Marriage rocks!
Ok, so again I haven't posted in FOREVER. I am so blessed to have an incredible wife. Things have been busy, but we're starting to get adjusted to married life. We are putting Christ first in all that we do and everything else just falls into proper perspective. Please pray for us to earnestly seek Him daily.
We bought a Nintendo Wii with wedding money. I'm hoping to be able to buy Guitar Hero III for with money from my birthday. It's hard to believe that it's coming so soon. Where did August go? Last I remember I was getting ready to be married and then all of a sudden September is coming quickly and will be here before we know it.
A cool fact. I was born on Labor day, Sept 1, 1980. This coming Monday is September 1, 2008 and it will also be Labor day.

Packing stuff up
Today I moved a bunch of my books into Cindy's house. I figured that the more I can get done before the wedding the better. I'm at her house so much anyway, if I need anything I can just go five miles down the road. :o). I am so thankful for the blessing of living so close to Cindy. My friends who I live with right now gave me such a tremendous gift. Not only did I basically live for nothing during the past 10 months, but I also don't have much of a commute to see Cindy.
I think I'm handling things pretty well. It's so cool that it is only 22 days away. I'm not really nervous at this point, just mostly excited :o).

long awaited update
Life has been crazy the last several months. Quite the world wind. Since I wrote last I started taking a second graduate class through Liberty University. I've been learning about development through the lifespan. It amazes me how life changes from birth to adulthood. These are things we take for granted and it is interesting to be able to study and understand some of what is going on inside our bodies and minds.
My dad got remarried last month. I'm glad I went.
I've really begun learning how to love Cindy more each day. Throughout our difficult times we both rely on God rather than on ourselves. It is those hardest times that when we look back we are so thankful for how God works.
Cindy and I just ordered our rings online and we'll be getting them in the next week or so.
We sent out the invitations last week and we're requesting RSVP via email.
We are meeting with Pastor Kirk tomorrow (Sunday) to talk about the details for the wedding.

A new hobby
Recently I've picked up playing Rockband and Guitar Hero for X-box 360. It's helping me develop some hand-eye coordination that I never had. In addition, I find that my rhythm has improved as well.
I will need to balance this along with the other aspects of my life.

Graduate school
I start my online course called Counseling 501 March 17th. I am very excited.
I will be focusing on my classwork while working part-time. I start my new job at Starbucks next to Colonial Commons 9 on March 17th as well.
This is a time of transition as I feel as though God wants me to pursue a career in counseling. Someday I'd like to open up my own practice once I get a lot of experience and am licensed to practice in PA.
I'm looking forward to being able to impact people in a more tangible way. I am a people person and my job at Starbucks will help me be in touch with what is going on in the lives of those I come in contact with on a daily basis.

Distance learning
I officially started the process to go back to school for my graduate degree in Marriage and Family counseling at Liberty University's distance learning program. This will help me get closer to my career of choice.
Please pray for the process and for me to constantly be seeking to become more conformed into the image of Christ.

How'd it happen?
The weekend of January 6th I went on a men's retreat. While there I finished my plans on how I was going to propose to Cindy. The plan was that I needed to get back to her house as quickly as possible after the retreat so I could take her to church. I was able to set the roses out while she was getting the sound ready for church.
I decided that I needed two things: it must be a surprise and roses would be involved. Therefore I made sure that she had no idea it was coming on that faithful Sunday evening.
Since I didn't see her all weekend it made sense that we would go back to her house to hang out after church. Little did she know that when I had the car that I drove back to Harrisburg. This was all a part of my plan to make sure Cindy felt extremely loved and cared for each and every moment we spend together.
After church we went back to her house. I opened the door and turned on the lights. She saw the roses and was turning around to give me a hug. I managed to get on bended knee with the ring box opened and asked her to marry me. I couldn't have asked it to go better. :o) She said "yes" and we are getting married on August 8, 2008 at 6:30 in the evening.
My heart was beating so fast. :o). boy was all the planning worth it. Now I am able to plan our special day and more importantly spend time on our knees committing our relationship to the Lord. The wedding day is extremely important, but it is essential that we plan and build our relationship on Christ for the rest of our lives. It's that foundation that really matters.
